Last Energy’s 20 MW micro modular power plant, the PWR-20

Last Energy is a full-service developer of the PWR-20, a 20 megawatt (MW) micro modular nuclear power plant, with the goal of enabling global clean energy access and decarbonization in a way that is safe, scalable, and economically competitive.

By owning all aspects of plant delivery and dramatically reducing the time and cost of construction, Last Energy is transforming the nuclear power industry to unlock clean, reliable baseload energy for industrial customers throughout Europe, all without the need for public funding.

About Llynfi Clean Energy Project

From 1951 to 1977, the site housed the Llynfi power station, a 120 MW coal plant. Following decommissioning in 1977, the site has remained vacant.

Last Energy's UK subsidiary plans to regenerate and bring the 14-acre site back into use by developing four PWR-20 units, our 20 MW PWR-20 micro modular nuclear power plants. We chose Llynfi because of its proximity to a large existing industrial base, which is in need of secure 24/7 clean power. Llynfi Clean Energy Project will support growth, revitalisation, and decarbonisation of local industry.

Our plans will contribute to the growth and decarbonisation of industry in South Wales, generating vital economic investment and job opportunities for the region by utilising local supply chains.
We are targeting 2027 to commission the first plant, following a successful planning and licensing process.
